I always thought of them as iMac/iBook PowerMac/PowerBook rather than the PMac/iMac PBook/iBook you thought..I don't think I even considered that once...

cohesion.

power = professional.
i = consumer.
e = education.

is the iBook only capable of surfing porn and writing email? while the powerBook is the full-featured older brother? nope.

so why would an iPod just play MP3s, while your beloved powerPod be able to 3D render, edit movies, and refine the recipe for the LSD batch you kids are obviously cooking up.

if apple comes out with a PDA, it'll have a new name, and it'll be an iName, since it'll be a consumer product, not a professional product. and it _will_ replace the iPod. and if they had any intention of doing it any time soon...they would have released that instead of the iPod.

yeah?
yeah.

Don't be narrow minded. Even if it wasn't the best camera, it would still be a way to take pictures directly without having another device to connect to it. And if you had a 20 Gig drive, it would be a nice little addition, especially if you could take movies with it too. Potential is huge:D

Well if they DO make a device like that, I hope
wait... REALLY hope it will be a bit more durable than the Ipod and not with a crappy 4 month warranty.

I understand, but it should be an option not built in. Price is always a factor and I would rather have a really powerful handheld computer at a good price then somethign with a lot of extra frills that in the long run I may not need.

Good point. And Apple would make more money by having more than one option available, digital still camera, digital video camera, microphone, etc., all which could be purchased separately.

There is a lot of potential, I just hope some day it all happens. Just the thought of pocket computer sounds cool.:D

apple would also spend tons more money bringing to market three seperate technologies that have to interact with an entirely new concept in computing. for the price point they'd have to meet to make this an option for people, they'd have to sell a whole ton of units, just to break even :) new technology is expensive - why else do you think you only see new apple peripherials trickle into the market (and why else do you think the nearly left that market entirely a few years back)...

just something to consider.
