Hey Sushi, I was thinking the 'KISS' principal as well, but I haven't heard it for a while and couldn't for the life of me remember what the last 'S' stood for...
I've forgotten what the last "S" stood for as well. Funny.

KISS is definitely a good principle to follow. :)

Today is the day of the presentation! It is going to take me 5 minutes and 40 seconds, beginning to end. We were allotted 5 minutes for the presentation and 2 minutes for questions - so I haven't went over too much! I have cut it down from the 7 minutes and 30 seconds it was taking before without sacrificing too much on quality.

I've just rehearsed my presentation there. It's sounding relatively good and I'm remembering to say everything that I've rehearsed. I hope I just don't screw it up when I actually deliver the only performance that counts!

I'll let you know how it all goes!

Thank you once more for all your help and input. It is all greatly appreciated.

P.S. I'm ending with the quote: "Who dares to teach must never cease to learn."

Well people, I heard some good news today. I got offered a place, which I've accepted!

Thank you again to everyone with your help and input. My presentation looked really well, and was efficient and streamlined :).

Figure a star keeps with the teaching theme. The sparkles are just for fun.

Shaun, wouldn't it be better to use the Apple remote for these presentations if you will have your laptop with you and set up Presenter Tools?

In PowerPoint 2008:

Slide Show > Presenter Tools

The timing may mess you up slightly so this may be worth a shot if you have your Mac setup for the presentation.

Good news.

Congratulations! :)

You know, it helps if you read the thread before responding. ;)

Hey JDee. I took the PowerPoint presentation on a USB stick as there was already a laptop hooked up to a projector. I simply used the space bar to progress the slides.

The Apple Remote Control obviously does give a more smoother presentation, but I didn't want to go to the hassle of buying an expensive adapter to use once and then perhaps have problems hooking my MBP up to an older projector. I also didn't want to hassle of taking my laptop with me!

Good news.

Congratulations! :)

Thanks Sushi. I knew after I did the presentation that I had presented it well and fluently. Which doesn't happen often for me! I stood up and practiced in front of my computer which helped. I was previously practicing sitting down but found I became more nervous standing up so that's the way I practiced!

Awesome result.

Not only that, you did something 90% of young people fail to follow through. You asked for advise, you took some of it, you reported back on the results and thanked us for it.

Top marks from me.
