Massive ice storm in Oklahoma yesterday, there's almost 700,000 people without power including us. I didn't have anything else to do and my camera was charged, so I took pictures.

I'm in a hotel right now, hopefully our power will be restored by tomorrow. **** sucks.

Good luck. I hate to say it, but I hope your pipes don't burst. Perhaps you should leave a couple on a slow drip to keep water moving so it doesn't freeze on you.

yep...storm hit 21 states so far... there are millions without power, and there's probably going to be more. We have power now, and we usually don't lose it, but it's only a matter of time before people around here start losing it.

Great pics tho, I snap'd a few myself, but dont have them on the computer yet..

I recall that it used to be Oklahoma and Texas almost never got snow, while NC got pounded on a regular basis. Unfortunately, that seems to have changed. Looks like a chance for Sat. night tho!

I'd love a snow storm or 2. We're hitting -2ºc at night now so we're below freezing.
Love a white Christmas. It's been a good 7 years since our last one.

We had one of those a few years ago. our power was out for almost a week because our state is so unprepared for weather like that. it is quite pretty though, isn't it?

I don't usually post just to write "Great shots!" or stuff like that, but I have to make an exception, this is sooo beautiful.

Sucks to be without power for several days/week though, happened to me a couple of winters ago. But those pictures make up for it a bit, right? ;)

Careful walking, and wear a helmet if you intend to photo underneath trees. We had a similar ice storm here in Montreal about 10 years ago. Beautiful but treacherous.

lol @ wearing a helmet.....

We had an icestorm just like this last year. We were lucky and were only out of power for about 12 hours and we had a generator. But friends of mine were out of power for 7-8 days

Dang, I wish I had taken some cool pics like that. We got iced over here too. Only just started melting yesterday. I was one of the lucky ones who didn't lose power, but a lot of people I work with did.

Missouri weather is freakin weird. I had to drive up there Tuesday from Rolla to take a Cisco certification exam at your test center because UMR (err....MS&T. F**king chancellor and his name change) doesn't have such a center. When I left Rolla, it was in the mid 50s, I had the windows and sunroof open, and there wasn't any ice or snow in sight. Suddenly on hwy 63 just south of Jeff City, it gets freezing cold and all the trees have ice on them and there's snow on the ground. It was still pretty dangerous walking around the Mizzou on campus Tuesday, not everything was cleared. Plus, I had no idea where the hell I was going which didn't help.

We get one of those here almost every year. Miss two or three days of school, it's all good. :)

That's odd that Texas gets ice storms and we never get them here. I can't say that I'm depressed about it though. Snow is nice but ice, not so much.
