Hi,

Been using my iMac G5 for a couple of months now and something that seemed to be a bit of a pain in the backside was tracking down decent versions of shareware / freeware apps for this generation of mac (it is 2015 after all). One I had some issue finding was a good PPC version of Phoneview which is essential if you want to access your ios 7 device from the iMac.

Anyway as I run a few sites I decided to upload many of the ones I consider essential (currently 18 on the site) to my personal site for all to download.

Hopefully others feel the same as I do and it would be great to have somewhere for all these apps as I'm sure there will be others like me that need these and instead of trawling around the web (as I had to for some of these) I figured why not use this for other PPC users.

Most of these are for 10.5.8 and the TenFourFox is the latest G5 release. Anyway hope it's ok to post this here. I will be using this site as I have some questions of my own lol. Cheers

http://www.redfan.eu (just go to downloads) .. Thanks and great to see lots of active PPC users still out there.

I have a working version of Skype as well. Only thing that doesn't work is video calling. The version of Skype is 6.15.0.334 and the copyright info dates it as 2010.

Incase you haven't come across it, some of the guys on here already maintain a comprehensive archive of PPC software:

http://ppcarchive.dyniform.net/software.html

But the more the merrier :)

Have you had that build of fsuae working ok? I downloaded it and it crashed before opening - I haven't really researched it though as I use E-UAE JIT which works great.

Cheers for the reply :) I have seen that software archive before but still did not find everything I needed. But yeah it's a great resource :)

As for FS-UAE no I have not had it work tbh and like you it crashes after a short time which sucks as I do like the emulator, I need to try E-UAE JIT. I have tried the standard E-UAE and found it ... well not so great tbh. Anyway cheers for the replies guys.

There is still macupdate.com as well. They still maintain their links to thousands of PowerPC apps.

cnet.com also still has downloads for PowerPC, but you have to go spelunking to find them. It went all to hell when CNet bought versiontracker.com out.
