PPC G5 PowerMac > Intel Mac Pro via Time Machine backup

Hi, Will I be able to restore, or migrate my backed up data, and applications from Time machine on a power pc to the intel platform Mac when I buy a new computer next year?
What is the best way to do this? Will it just be a simple migration?
