I felt so good about how IMAP worked on my device that I needed to share a quick fact. I am coming from 5+ years with different Blackberry devices up to the Curve that was just released. In the entire time I used RIM, IMAP support was GARBAGE. No 2-way sync, all 1 way and horrible at that.

Now since setting up the iPhone, well not even setting up since it did it automatically once I synced with my Mac, everything has been flawless from being able to access all my folders and everything. My sent mail and deleted mail is even synced perfectly so I can check my mail from a web browser, from, or from my iPhone.

My setup is my domain tied into Google Apps/Mail (sweet too btw) and then forwarded to my IMAP account at (another good one). If anyone has any questions about my setup feel free to PM me!

Same setup here. Two things I would like are the ability to create folders and some sort of filtering tool with rules.

I agree that the mail app is nice....but I'm a bit confused.

Does the mail app actually get 'push' mail? It was my understanding that 'push' mail would be rather instant....or at least within 30 seconds. Often times I won't get my mail unless I go into my mail box and click the check mail button.

    Anyone experience this?

I read somewhere on here that if you have both. lets say a gmail account and yahoo account setup that "push" will not work but that it will rely on the setting you choose for checking mail, say every 15 min. This is my experience thus far as well. I have both of these accounts and will not get immediately unless I am in the mail folder messing around.

With most IMAP services you can set the sent from and reply to, both of which are my original domain.

Also, about the PUSH question, the way it works is Gmail pushes the mail instantly to IMAP which allows you to check it as fast as your client lets it. In the iPhone case I believe is 15 minutes but I have mine set for an hour and then just check e-mail when I have a minute.
