    hi all

is the PRAM the same as the CMOS/BIOS on a PC?

i have an iMac G3 (early 2001 version).
can i access the CMOS(?) on this?

having issues trying to install Edubuntu 6.06.1 PPC

I don't know much about PCs so, I can't tell you how this compares, but PRAM is an acronym (I think that's the correct word) for Parameter RAM. This doc explains more about it and what it is:

:apple: Mac OS X: What's stored in PRAM

and this one tells what's stored in PRAM with Mac OSes prior to OS X and also how to reset it:

:apple: Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM

    thank you
it gives me an idea of what Mac OS's, etc keep there.
is it the same for different OS's?

i want to install linux, probably Edubuntu.

    thanks for info.

i was wondering if i could do a little tweak or 2 on system to get OS to install.

im going to have to go to the Edubuntu forums and see if i can find something there.

i will be back to post updates.

    thanks again
