The big deal is there's no need for what you're talking about. You HAVE to get out of the Windoze mindset when you move to a Mac. It's so incredibly easy to add & drop hard drives that space isn't an issue. No sweat on drive letters and all the rest of the crud that goes with Windoze.

What's "Windoze"?

It's more a preference thing than anything, really.

And this mean what, exactly?

It's interesting you're worrying about drive space and you have a 500 gig drive in that laptop of yours. That's nothing to sneeze at and space problems won't be an issue.

The thing to realize is, if you truly want to embrace Macs, you need to let go of Windoze ways and thoughts.

What you are saying about space is completely valid and perhaps I do need to leave that mindset. I understand that, but there's no need to be rude and tell me that my preferences don't matter in a thread that was started by myself. That's what that means.

I was far from being rude. If you can't take criticism then you've got some serious life issues.

To the OP I understand where you're coming from... and I'm not a windows convert.

I've long been considering to remove Garageband since I don't use it, plus I continually ignore an update for it which comes in at 1.2GB... thats space that could be better used, so I'm thinking why even keep the app:confused:

There's probably a couple more apps I could without too..

Jack, you do have communication difficulties. You sound much like a religious fanatic, railing against a non-believer.

I'm on a MacBookPro 7,1 with 128 gb SSD, so space is very much an issue. I have never regretted my choise of hardware, and I have never had difficulties related to my removal of the OSX bloatware.

iLife, Chess, Garageband, iChat, iDVD, iPhoto, iWeb, TextEdit and Dictionary are all rather useless. I prefer Skype, VLC, Bridge and TextMate. Apple should keep it clean, and let us build our own setup.
