I tried the Apple store online chat and the rep said he has not a specific time for it either.

All Apple releases/preorders in the past went live at 12:01AM PST/ 3:01AM EST. I don't foresee them changing this schedule. Hope the site doesn't get overloaded like the iPhone 6 preorder. It took me forever to order it.
