If I order now or if I order in three weeks does it matter much? If I order now will I get it right when they're released vs 2-3 weeks after if I wait? What are the chances stores will have these in stock when they come out?

Talking about the new 17" :)

Depends on if you want a custom built one or not. If you are looking for an off the shelf model then you can get it cheaper in the US at amazon.com or at universities then through apple.

Interesting...why would Amazon sell it cheaper? Does Apple.com and/or Amazon charge sales tax? I'm getting the base so I'm assuming stores will carry a few and I'm an hour drive from tax free NH so it's worth the $140 to drive up there if I go that route.

Apple charges tax...just did the checkout to see.

    Amazon doesn't charge sales tax.
