Those in the ATT thread know my story by now but I have to vent.

So I stayed up and started hitting refresh at 12:00 am PST sharp on the apple site by 1:30 am PST I still could not get an order complete so I went to the ATT site and 9 mins later I had my confirmation 1:39 am PST 3:39 am my time.

I got this email

So I call and I am told I have to take 2 forms of ID in to the store. The store was closed by this time so I went in Sat first thing when they opened and gave them IDs and all was well. Then Sat night I get this again:

WTF!!! I thought it might be an error duplicate but I figured I better call just incase. Sure enough something was not done right at the store and I had to answer a bunch of questions from my credit file and they say ok you are good to go. Shortly after the call I get this:

I checked my status on Monday and my order date has changed to 10/8 vs when I actually ordered and as of today I am still showing backordered on my order status page. I understand these things happen and I am hoping to get the phone some time next week but all this talk of 1 month for orders processed after Friday is getting me worked up. So thought I would share so those with similar stories know they are not alone.

Still no tracking today. Hopefully next week is the week for me. This will be my last time staying up to do a pre-order lol.

Same situation here. I am canceling order or file chargebacks and wait for next batch from Verizon.

Doesnt seem worth it for a phone does it? :(
 
In 6 months you won't even care about this.

Life is too short to get mad at this kind of botch up. AT&T is famous for this type of stuff. Maybe they'll surprise you, maybe not. Maybe it takes an extra few days. Won't matter in the larger scheme of things.

As we say in the islands here, "Hang loose, brah."
 
I feel you. At least yr issue's been resolved though...I'm still waiting for att to figure out why theres a hold on my account. It'll be four days today.

Actually, I think it may be easier to buy a Gun in the US than to buy a Cell Phone from AT&T.

(I got hit with the "verify your identity" delay too by the way. Then they changed my order date from 1 hour after the site opened to "10/8". It was my fault for having moved earlier this year they kindly explained to me, before tossing my order at the end of the line...)
 
Sounds to me like you got something wrong with your credit/identity, etc.

Everyone is super careful these days because of the scammers. After this is all over I would get it FIXED!:rolleyes:
 
I moved about 6 months ago. Perhaps that is the issue? I am fine with them double checking my identity. Actually I am happy to see they do this, but they need to find a more efficient way to conduct the check.

It will work.. but really to me it is a horror story. When November rolls around and i still don't have the phone I will have to come up with something even more catchy :cool:

And I read the thread because I pretty much knew it wouldn't be close to either and wanted to make a sarcastic comment illustrating your drama queen like behavior.

So if you consider that a +1 for you... so be it...

Not getting your phone the exact day it comes out is beyond horror...it's utter catastrophe. Expect a major spike in suicides and murders if people don't get their telephone toys when they deserve them.
