Anyone else thinking they should cancel their S4 preorder? I am thinking I should just save the money and get a S3. Sure its not quite as good but never having had an AW before, would I notice? What will I really miss? I guess I am looking at $429 (44mm) vs $309 (42mm) plus tax for new?

I think for a first-time owner the s3 will be just fine! This will ive you a chance to see if you actually like it and use it every day.

I got my wife a S1 from Walmart for $140 brand new and since she never had an AW before it was still amazing to her and she loves it!

Or $259 refurbished from Apple, I hadnt thought of that till today!

Or $222 brand new if you have Fry's near by.

But even at $222 for S3, I am getting S4 as my first AW because the AW screens have always seemed too small to me. Not only have they fixed this in S4, but in a dramatic way. The smaller S4 model has a larger screen than even the larger S3 model. That's fantastic. Also I think the AW4 looks way better with the thinner bezel. Even the rounded corners look better.

That bezel just seems 1995 to me.

Furthermore, I want to hang on to this for at least 3 years, and since the S4 CPU is twice is fast as the S3, I think it will age much better than buying an S3 new today.

Lastly, I tend to sell my devices when I'm done with them, so I consider TCO (total cost of ownership), not just initial cost of ownership. Three years from now the S4 resale price will undoubtably be better than the S3 resale price, which will cut that price difference. For example let's say the price difference is about $150 now, and three years from now the S4 sells for $60 more than the S3. In that scenario, the price difference after all is said and done was really only $90.

Honestly I think you'd regret the Series 3. If you're buying for the first time, you might as well get the newest model so when you realize how much you love it you won't have to look for a buyer for your Series 3 so you can upgrade.

No. I slept on it a few days and just submitted my order once I was sure. I personally want the bigger screen and gold stainless color.

Seeing them side by side...wow, the S4 sure looks more advanced....

I think you’ll have remorseful remorse
You are probably right :)

No regrets here. The larger display, health aspects, EKG, louder speaker and..._All_ my Bands are compatible make this continued experience with the upgrade.

Seeing that photo comparison makes me wonder why anyone would want an older model, even if it’s premium like ceramic or Hermes.
