I asked this very question on their Facebook (which they reply to in minutes... a GREAT resource for these questions)...

They confirmed, you will not get your iPhone until the 25th if you preorder for in-store pickup. They're promoting ship-to-home.

I asked a question and some looser named Ken Hooey answered my question incorrectly. Never got a response from AT&T.

I'm sorry, but I still think the best experience is to pre-order from Apple.com and have it delivered to you on launch day. I did that last year and the experience was absolutely error-free.

Not sure if AT&T can be trusted to provide an error-free experience......

I know this year is a completely different scenario, but how was the website last year? Did it crash or was it slow? Thank you in advance! :)

It is true that the lastest releases do not seem to mention the weird 25th date.

This too mentiones "One line" for all people on the 24th. Why would that be said, if that line would not include pre-orders.

I believe the first link is mainly about pre-ordering. Pre-ordering is not the same as reserving, which would be why mainly home delivery is mentioned.

The second link is just a general statement of when it goes on sale and when you can start to pre-order.

Also, I do not think these are actual press releases. The first thing that you posted earlier is a press release that informs people on basically everything. The pre-ordering link seems to be a guide for people to read and the other link is just what their website says.

The 3rd line up from the bottom in the image..."The line stars here..." Does that refer to the usual media-friendly freaks who always seem to be in lines like this... "I've been camped out here since Christmas!" Just kidding.

Very interesting document.

I'm still opting for pre-order with Apple and home delivery. Fewer variables.

Lets be clear, the absence of a date to pick up preorders on some documents does NOT override the existence of that date on the PR.

What would override that is a PR stating you can pick it up on the 24th.....but this doesn't exist.

I'm convinced now not to go through AT&T. I want to pick up in store. Deciding between apple store and best buy.

All I know is ATT told me via Facebook that in order to get it the 24th is to ship to my home. :(

That's right. Or you can attempt to wait in a line for whatever amount of time and chance it that you will get an iPhone on the 24th. You pick: 1) Order via AT&T online or Apple.com to have it delivered to your house on the 24th (assuming there are no carrier problems) OR wait in a line and maybe get a phone on the 24th. (Chances increase with what number you are in line);)
