Pre ordered 3/9 they just deducted $772.74 from my bank

Day I pre ordered ship date quote was the 19th and to be delivered the 21st my order white wifi 4g 32 gb Verizon just wanted to know if any one else ordered a day or two after if any one has updates or shipping status info first time pre ordering from apple.com I purchased my iPad 2 last year from macmall.com they didn't charge sales tax

Your post is a little hard to decipher. But, it looks like you are asking if Apple should have charged you this early, or if they should have charged you sales tax. Yes, they do charge tax, and you should have an emailed receipt from when you ordered that shows you this.

Charging now when the ship date is supposed to be the 19th? Well, either this charge is really just a temporary hold, or your item shipped early.

I hope that answered your question...
 
What? Are you questioning why they charged you tax? You were emailed a receipt and you could see the total before they charged you so it shouldn't be a surprise.
 
In California, a company is required to charge sales tax online if they have a store in that state. Which is why Amazon may or may not charge sales tax. Apple has stores in California so they charge sales tax when ordering online.

It's likely the same in other states.

Sorry to confuse lol I just mentioned about the no sales tax with macmall as a tip to others if they don't mind waiting a little longer they can save some money but I think they only charge sales tax in states they have a retail store or some thing to that effect and I did get a e mail the day I ordered but they didn't take the money out of my account until today i guess want I meant to ask and hope is that they maybe shipped sooner than the 19th quote and wanted to know if any one else had the funds deducted from there bank or credit card thanks for the info and patiance with my babble haha
 
I was charged the day it "Shipped." It's common practice, and a rule of thumb, to charge customers when an order ships; I've rarely been charged when an order is placed. It's possible enough people dropped their pre-order to bump you up to March 16th.

Check your tracking number, if applicable. If it still says March 21st then I'm not sure. If it says March 16th, sweet!

Qczar hit the nail on the head thanks I'm responding from iPod touch its kinda what I've Been using since I sold my iPad 2 takes a little longer to reply

Thanks qczar it would be sweet if it arrived sooner although I haven't recieved any tracking number yet also thanks to all who replied with there input

Called apple today just to get more info on my order status they just said it looks like I'll get my iPad on the 21st and they upgraded my shipping in some way so I have it in hand on the 20th so we shall see ;)

Yay they shipped my ipad via FedEx today it arrives on 19th before 3 pm two days sooner than I expected. Tracking says its in Mount Juliet Tennessee happy nerd in south Florida :)
