Deep down, a part of me is driven more by the rush of waking up in the early hours of the morning, successfully nailing a delivery date of Nov 3rd, and then watching the delivery dates get pushed out. I find myself more psyched by this rush than the actual phone itself. Don’t get me wrong, I really want this new iPhone, but there is just something about the pre-ordering process that gets me excited. I had no interest in pre-ordering the iPhone 8, but woke up at go-live just to follow this forum and how things were going.

This leads me to my question, what is the most exciting part of a new iPhone release:

1) the keynote announcement
2) waking up at midnight, pre-ordering, and nailing a launch day delivery date
3) unboxing that new phone

3.) Taking delivery and unboxing a new iPhone. Especially given the new technology and form factor, I think this one will be much more exciting than the past four generation iPhones of what we have been used to seeing.

Preordering for sure.

I used to get a similar thrill from Ebay auctions. But at least here the price is fixed, albeit rather high :D

Unboxing it for sure. I pickup my stuff at ups so I don’t have to wait until 8 pm for them to deliver :p

I’d say the keynote is the least exciting since everything that is being announced is already known for months in advance.

I think most exited is when preorder time 11:59 ready and finally sucess
that feeling like you just done amazing project :)

To me, the most stressful part is the preordering process. xD Every second counts when millions of others are trying to do the same thing as you. :p Gonna try to do an In Store Pick-Up for launch day at my local Apple Store rather than having it shipped.

I just love the rush of pre orders for some reason. Don’t get me wrong, I love finally receiving my new phone, but the rush of trying to pre order in time for a launch day delivery is so exciting.

I would have to say pre-order night. Obvi the "best" part is receiving the new phone but the preorder process is by far the most pivotal, stressful, and exciting part of the whole process. This delayed preorder has made the anxiety and stressful run far too long lol so much on the line pre-order night, bring on the 27th! :D

The rush of preordering for sure. It’s the thrill of trying to get in on the first wave.

It’s great if I score but a few years ago there was some Verizon issue and I ended up not being to order until Verizon opened up and I could get it resolved. Typo on their part so something didn’t match.

I ended up waiting over a month but that was one frustrating morning.

Love unboxing that puppy but boy can the pre-order process be stressful.

Last year like all the rest of us fools here I was up bright and early to place my order. Got it in for release day YAYYYyyy...

OK need AppleCare+ too. WTF!? Why can't I get AppleCare? It refuses to add AppleCare. I go searching and wandering for reasons. Can't find any reason. OK I'll order a second phone along with AppleCare and then cancel one. NOPE! Cancel one order. NOT THAT ONE!

Net result... Two and a half months after release day.  :(
