So what’s the possibility of In Store Trade in for the 16 ProMax. ? I’m hoping Apple offers $500 trade in credit for my 13 Pro Max is that within the ball park?

Very much doubt that much trade in credit.

Maybe when the 16 launches, it might get a bump up ??

My 14+ is currently offering $400 if I trade it in for a 15 now.

Apple does adjust trade-in values (up and down) from time to time and has also run limited time trade-in promotions but not usually tied to iPhone launches. Depending on condition, the current trade in value for a 13 Pro Max is up to $460 (in the U.S.) and I imagine that will still be the trade value when the 16s launch but can't say for sure.

Does Apple lower trade-in values right when they launch the newest phone? I have a 14 Pro Max that right now Apple is offering me over $800 CAD to trade in if I was to buy a new phone right now. On Sept 9th, I have to either buy my phone out from my carrier for $590 CAD or send it back (end of 2 yr term). With the current trade-in it is a no brainer to just keep it and then I can trade it in for a 16 Pro Max and net over $200 CAD. My only worry is if the trade-in drops on iPhone 16 pre-order day it may not be a net gain?? Hopefully it wouldn't drop $200 CAD just because the 14 is now two generations older instead of just the one generation it is today.

It's not usually right at launch but I don’t think it's too long after. Apple typically reduces the prices of older models by $100 (U.S.) right when new models launch (e.g., when iPhone 15 launched last year, the U.S. starting price of a new iPhone 14 dropped from $829 to $729) which can naturally have a domino effect on used iPhones, especially those only a year or two old.
