Just want to remind everyone that the holiday return policy in the US is in effect. Items can be returned/exchanged until January 7th now. So if the 27" comes out sooner than later, you can test it out and decide. By that time, the 21.5" stock should more than likely stabilize a bit if the 27" doesn't work out.

I was told the same thing when I purchased a 15 inch rmbp this week.

I ordered it today from Mac mall. They told me that apple told them the 21" ships in 5-7 day (says on their site) so I think custom orders online are preorders.

...and, if you want the education discount, it is the only way to go...which could be more significant on a machine like this....
