When the first ipad came out ,you could pre-order online

My question is from the day Steve announced the first ipad to when you could preorder it ,how long was that ?

Same day ?
Couple of days?
Weeks after ?

Announcement was a Wednesday, preorder was that Friday, with shipments something like 2+ weeks after that.

I think (and we can all have opinions) that the preorder will be Friday with delivery the following Friday.

There were no preorders last year, so there probably won't be any again.

But that was most likely due to stock constraints. It's rumoured they have been producing them for a few months already, so possibly they will do preorders. As long as they have enough to sell I don't see why they wouldn't.

However I'd bet on international release in the biggest foreign markets (Canada, UK, France, Germany, Japan, etc) above preorders. Sales are likely already slowing, and will fall massively after Wed. It would seem to make more sense for them to get in as many markets quickly than allow preorders if they need to make a choice.
