After reading over those posts and most of his other ones involving the iPhone models, it sounds like the antennas have improved slightly since last year in all models. The performance on the regular 11's antenna is actually fine, as it can sometimes improve the signal like an antenna is intended to do. Anyone upgrading from a previous model to the 11 should not notice any problems.Genuinely expecting the same reception issues to persist as last year with absolutely minimal improvement. Would absolutely love to be proven wrong, but initial results are disappointing.
I'll play along. I predict Green-Gate. I'm curious if the PVD green coating on the stainless steel will hold up. It should as I have the Gold XS Max, but I wonder though. So with each new iPhone Launch there is always some type of issue. Dubbed “Gates” after the WaterGate scandal.
Last year it was Yellow Gate or Antenna Gate or scratch Gate with Jet black IPhone 8’s
So now we have the iPhone 11, 11 Pro and ProMax, what could possibly go wrong ?
Please share your thoughts on what the iPhone 11 new Gate could be.
I’ll guess a few.
#1. Brightness Gate (1200nits is very bright I don’t think they will sustain 1200nits for more than a minute and definitely less) many will cry foul
#2. Color Gate, 1200nits and HDR some will no doubt say the display is too vibrant and not photorealistic
#3. Battery Gate, an Extra 5 hours ? That’s a lot under what settings ?
#4. Charging Gate, included new fast Charger will definitely get the charger hot and get the phone very hot, Maybe too hot for some people.
I did the math it weights as much as 40 quartersWeight Gate is real.
Far too heavy and bulky.
Agreed. I can see Apple being sued because of someone gets a hand or wrist injury due to the weight. They would be clearly negligent because they chose to make the phone out of heavy materials like stainless steel and glass. I can just hear the advertisements now. "Have you been injured while trying to hold up your iPhone. Are you now unable to work and require around the clock nursing care for basic needs. Has your wife or girlfriend left you because you were unable to please her. Call us and we'll get you the money you deserve for your pain and suffering!"Weight Gate is real.

I've never heard any complaints about the XR antenna. Just the XS Max. Is the regular iPhone 11 antenna superior to the Pro version?I'm surprised that Displaygate hasn't been suggested yet!
There are 2 Pro models in each region but they both have the exact same modem. (The regular 11, being all LCD, only has 1 model) We know Apple is supposed to start using both Samsung and LG for OLED displays, will the 2 models be LG Display and Samsung display? If so, I suspect people will figure out early on whether the Samsung is better or LG and people will want the better display.
Hopefully that isn't the case and the LG display turns out fine.

The 11 Pro models is where the numbers kind of disappoint, but again they have improved since last year's XS models. Since last year's phones didn't result in a massive wave of complaints, I can't see antenna as being an issue this year. I'm not going to comment on whether there is much real world impact of the differences because I barely understand them myself.

One of the most annoying things when it comes to these oled panels. When will it ever be fixed? For the screen sticklers, brace yourself for panel lottery. Not really a gate though

Lol sounds like me#greengate
The people who went with the latest and greatest, then regretted it.
According to the FCC documents linked via the tweets in that first page post, yes, the iPhone 11 antenna provides reception slightly superior to the Pro version. It's using the same antenna configuration as the iPhone XR. The XR and regular 11 use a 2x2 antenna configuration, whereas the iPhone XS introduced a 4x4 antenna configuration which can result in better performance when there's a good signal since you can receive data on up to 4 bands at the same time. The iPhone 11 Pro uses the 4x4 configuration. The problem is that the 4x4 configuration has less signal gain than the 2x2 version, so reception will usually be weaker on the Pro in the exact same place as the standard version. I don't know anything about antenna technology, but I assume that having the extra antennas gives them less room (surface area) in the phone for each one which is contributing to the worse signal gain. (To further that, everything I say here is just my understanding based on what I've read and could be incorrect.)I've never heard any complaints about the XR antenna. Just the XS Max. Is the regular iPhone 11 antenna superior to the Pro version?
You mean like my XS Max? Also quoting the highest priced configuration that Apple sells in an iPhone might sound cool but I doubt many will get this. How about the phones just work well out the box this time round? For £1500 you'd expect it to.
