1 million in 28 days (give or take 24 hours).

Backorders for weeks ahead, delays on new products and new regions.

7 months till 2011.

I guess they can make about 8~9 million units since production started , so at what point will demand drop off?

I am guessing 7 million easy.

7,015,234 to be precise ;) :D :apple::apple::apple:

5-7 million would be my guess, if you include international sales. This thing is gonna be hot this X'mas.

10 mil.
If you consider that the 1 million in 28 days was ONLY North America, and most were ONLY WiFi models...

The ipad is going to be like the nintendo wii. They'll sell as many as they can actually manufacture as I don't see demand dying down anytime soon. We're talking worldwide here of course. Except unlike the wii, many households buy multiple for each person in the family.

^^^^^
You just may be right. As more and more iPad-specific apps are released, this thing is going to catch on like wildfire. The analogy with Wii may be quite fitting.

Does anyone know if a new official number has been released since the 1mil mark? Was wondering this this morning.

It certainly doesn't seem like demand has died down, which must irritate the hell out of the naysayers.

About a month after the iPad is launched in all countries demand will drop.
A good estimate would be 5 million for the year.

Just under a million a month for the rest of the year seems a good prediction, so I think 7-8 million is a good bet. Demand may slow down in the US, but the international roll out is coming quite quickly, and that will fill in the numbers. It is also a good bed that iPads will be a hot seller this Christmas.

115 billion which is also the new CBO estimate of the additional cost for Obamacare.

My prediction for 2010: not as many as they will sell in 2011. :D

iPads are convenient, and so easy to use by all ages that they will continue to be a big hit in many households.

Hmm... How many additional lives will that additional cost save?

ZERO. As Peloser said...we have to pass the bill to find out what is in it.

Getter passed before the CBO can figure out the true cost...

But we regress. The iPad will be huge.

One million iPads.
