I know WWDC has just happened recently but I'm curious if any auto maker has released any roadmap for their plans with the IOS integration. I can see myself buying a new vehicle in the next 6-12 months and would love to wait out for one with the new IOS integration if possible.

In the past, music player to car "intelligent" integration is been less than polished, just to be polite.

It felt less than close cooperation between device maker and head units vendors, resulting in, when you got a problem, your vehicle maker points fingers at Apple, and Apple points fingers at the car maker, and you got an expensive piece of equipment there not doing what you paid for.

Supposedly new Audis show your iPhone screen on the dashboard when connected. I'm not sure about actually iOS integration though.

Thanks, I was aware of the initial MFG's listed at WWDC, I was moreso wondering if any of them had actually announced models/dates when we would actually see it surface. I'd think it would probably require IOS7 so fall perhaps.

Anyways, like I said it's most likely far too early since WWDC was so recent I am just anxious! :)

We may need a better definition of iOS integration as my 3 year old car works perfectly with my iPhone. Incoming calls gently turns music down so I can hear the ringer through the car speakers. I can answer from my steering wheel, or press a button on my navigation. Speak into the integrated car speakers. Pick music via siri, call contacts by saying something like, 'call mom' ( although siri doesn't seem to hear me as well in the car as out ), plays pandora, spotify, iTunes radio all controllable via steering wheel controls or navigation screen.

I do not have the iPhone screen popping up on my nav screen, thought that would be nice.

This is "IOS in the car": http://www.theverge.com/2013/6/10/4414368/apple-wwdc-ios-in-the-car

Hasn't VW already anounced plans to bring the iBeetle?

Other than that, I've read that Mercedes is going to add a button on the steering wheel for siri.

This is basically the definition of iOS integration. What we have currently is simple controls.

Personally I am looking forward to a navigation screen. But we recently bought cars (within the last three years), so unless someone comes up with an in dash kit, I probably won't see this in MY car much sooner than 2020. One of our cars has MS Sync, which is pretty good. Has its quirks, but then again, so does Siri.
