What browser is everyone using for their default on iPhone/iPad? I used Safari for the longest time because of the sync between iPad and iPhone but recently started using DuckDuckGo. Mainly because I like that I can open a tab in the background or foreground and I like the grid view for my open tabs.

Yeah i know they are all just skins on the WebKit. I just like that i can open in foreground or background. For Safari have to pick one in settings. Also like the grid. Does safari try to upgrade the privacy of sites like DDG does?

Mainly been using Opera lately. I used to use Dolphin quite a lot but it seems to have been neglected in the last couple of years.

I'm hoping an iOS release of Vivaldi will occur at some point. I don't really care for Opera, but I don't like Firefox or Chrome on my iPhone/iPad.

And while all third party browsers are forced to use Apple's rules and thus are essentially reskins of Safari…I HATE Safari. I hate it on every platform that app runs on and will never use it unless I have no other options.

The absolute worst part about it is that you cannot customize it - unlike Chrome, Firefox, Vivaldi, Opera or any other fork of those browsers. And when I say customize, I'm not talking about plugins or extensions.

I use Brave and Google search. I know that may seem counterproductive, but I’ve never been happy with the results from DDG. Google seems more consistent.

Microsoft edge for me lol. Even in Windows I don’t use chrome because it’s a resource hog and because it’s Google. Yeah I know it’s based off the same kernel but still has Microsoft flavor on it for privacy

Another vote for DuckDuckGo with Safari. I’ve also loaded Edge on the iPads the kids sometimes use, so they don’t mess with my bookmarks. That’s a nice little mobile browser.

Since I use Edge on macOS, I decided to switch to Edge on iOS for consistency. I like Edge and have had no issues on either platform.

I use Edge to have better sync with all my devices, including Android and Windows.
But I'm warming up to Firefox now.

For search engine, unfortunately have to stick with Google. Local searches on the other search engines like bing are abysmal.

Safari and DDG. Chrome and Goog on windows work laptop.
I do think Google has the best search engine (best results) but it requires too much privacy. FFS everyone has gotten rid of the simple to do 3rd party cookies. Google is even dragging their feet on that.

Safari and the excellent password management/generation built into iOS is one of the things that locked me in to Apple products. Wish they would release Safari for Windows and Linux though so everything synced up.

I like using DuckDuckGo browser on the phone for most surfing since it does a good job blocking unwanted stuff and I use Safari for more important sites.

Have you enabled local search in DuckDuckgo? It has worked great for me the past few months its been out.
