ready.. set.. go
Had my mind made up on silver.
Found a 1.2/512 Gold at Best Buy Monday, and bought that.
I'm really liking the gold and none of my colleagues have given me any $h!t about using a gold computer. I figure that if they do, I'll just have Odd Job toss his derby hat at them.
Space Grey is my favourite, Silver is nice as well, Gold is okay but kinda irritating to the eyes.
Loving my gold
fair but i think a new poll is good now that its been out and most people have a had chance to play with in the store or maybe even purchase one if lucky.
I originally voted SG in the other poll. Now that I've seen gold in person, I wish I had chosen that. Tried to find one in stock at any local Best Buy but all were out of all colors.
I originally wanted gold, but I did't stay up to order and I did not want wait, so i decided to order silver and I am happy! Silver matches everything else I own so its not a big deal. I just hope it lives up to all of my expectations. So far so good.
Not seeing a like ANYONE who went silver lol. I know its the same old. A BB about a hour from me had a silver in stock today a 1.1/256 almost was tempted to go grab it. Even offered i could pay for it over the phone.
I figured the gas it would cost me with my Hummer H3 i could just get it expedited to my house for this Monday for $29. In SG
Silver first, SG second, gold 3rd by a wiiiiide margin.
However, Silver is perfect too.
The main reason I went space grey is for vanity. I just wanted to to finally match my phone.
If Apple would sell me a silver and black iPhone, I probably would have bought silver.
When it was first announced I was all over the gold. Then after seeing some press shots and seeing it myself in person I switched to Space Gray. I somehow ended up buying the Gold and I think I may have been right all along. It's a marvelously beautiful color way.
Great shots! Love the leather red couch too
Enjoy your personal C3PO inspired MBr!
I had a gold Sony SVZ laptop and was told time after time it reminded people of C3PO
I decided on the Batman version this time around lulz
I had my mind made up on silver, and then i saw space grey in the store....
Very good - I hadn't thought of that. I keep hearing the Bond theme.
Yeah, it's so unique, I've had grey and silver laptops, and they're a dime a dozen... the gold was just so different. I upgrade every year though. Will I keep buying gold year after year? Probably not, but this one I did, and I'm loving it!
Maybe its the voting demographic here, but clearly in popularity Gold took first place, then space gray, then silver... at least based on sales. And I highly doubt there was some major difference in the number they have been producing because they're building to order, and clearly the golds sold out way way quicker.
I have gold, debating whether I should go SG or not.
ugh, the gold is beautiful though. but the space grey/dark look is growing on me a lot too in some videos.
i can't make my mind up. i wonder if i would miss gold.
silver isn't in for me though, its too traditional-- but again, not bad.
this is the problem with choices
screen grab from detroitborgs video review
I am surprised to see the lack of love for the silver. I wonder if gold seems to be a popular choice because it is new. It's pretty, sure, but I would be tired of it very quickly.
The space gray looks sort of nice, but it just reminds me of a Dell/Sony and the fingerprints would drive me nuts. The only reason I have a SG phone is because of the black bezel. I would get the silver phone if I could get the black bezel too. To each, their own, I guess. Glad Apple offers the option now!
Just wondering does the Space Grey color get scratched easily ?
As I notice my MBa 2010 in silver already get scratched pretty easily
The anodizing used on the MacBooks are pretty similar in hardness. The issue with scratching on the gold or space gray is when scratches go through the anodizing layer.
Underneath the anodized color is the raw aluminum, so scratches on gold or space gray will be silver and will show much more prominently.
So is it better to get silver or space grey ?
Is the silver also anodized ? as I went to the apple store earlier and notice their silver iPhone 6, when scratch is different color underneath (cant remember but its either darker or lighter silver)
There's probably not a whole lot of difference. Get the one you like and do your best not to scratch it!
Alright maybe I'll give the space grey a try. As I notice my old MBa the scratches/chips looks darker then the original silver itself.
But i'm wondering for space grey, what will happen to the arm rest area after using it for a year or two. Will our sweat eat in anodizing and become patchy ?
