Preorder Iphone X with gift card?

I'm planning to be one of the crazies who is going to try and get one of the Xs on Oct 27.

My question is, can I/should I use an Apple Gift Card?

I have one worth $2,000.00 that I had intended to give to someone as a gift but that wanted cash instead.

Verizon is my carrier and I'm planning on using the Apple Store App on my 7 Plus, but I'm worried that it might cause a delay and thus prevent me from getting one on launch day.

Just paying with my normal debit card is no problem, but I would like to use the gift card if I can.

Any thoughts?

When you go to check out, It will ask you for the gift card number and then you input it, which should be about the same amount of time as using your debit card, assuming it's on file with Apple. Otherwise, the fastest way would be using Apple Pay.

Based on the info out thus far (10-12 million units available), how fast will they sell out? If it's 30-90 seconds then I'll just use Apple Pay, but if it's 5 minutes then I might as well use my gift card.

Will probably take seconds to sell-out

Aiming to get a new iPad Pro when it appears.

I’ve got a £550 Apple Gift Card. It can be used towards a preorder, is that correct? Do I register the card beforehand and it’ll automatically take £550 off my order before charging my credit card?

You dont need to register the card beforehand. Just paste in the PIN number (of the gift card) when ordering..
