Preorder New Apple TV

Apple stated late October availability, but has anyone heard of when/if we can preorder it? I know the phones go on preorder tomorrow, it would be nice if I could preorder my Apple TV and get it on release day.

Judging from their previous time frames and how they often push deadlines to the limit I'm expecting last two weeks of October and I hope they do a pre-order and I hope they realize the pent up demand or there's going to be a ton of frustrated threads popping up.

Really intrigued as to why there wasn't a set date for this or the iPad Pro. I'm going to bet it's all hinging on TvOS. When it's close to being finalized is when they announce the dates. I'm just hoping they've got massive orders in for these since this is also falling into the holiday season.

We're not only going to be trying to get this along other people who've waited for an update but also all those who want to make this a christmas present as well. Holiday Apple shopping is never fun as it's months of backorders. Last time I did this was for the 2012 iMac and if I recall correctly I literally received it three days before Christmas.

I can see maybe they need time for the iPad pro to be ready. But for 3+ years since an update, I can't help but wonder why they would even have the event and then not release the Apple TV until "late October". How about just wait till it's ready, have the event, and see "available today"?
