just wondering. If I preorder through Apple do I have to have the full amount in my checking acct when I preorder the new iPhone(the money is supposed to clear from PayPal on the 20th. I’m using money from selling my old MacBook. I am going to buy it outright through Apple. Thanks in advance

You should have to, yes. It's a debit/credit transaction, not a checking account draft that takes a day or two to clear.
[doublepost=1505165677][/doublepost]This is, at least, my experience.

That’s what I figured, I just remember in the past it wouldn’t charge until it shipped. I have the money well over to cover it I just like to keep wants and needs separated

All my Apple orders are charged right before they ship, including iPhones. In my experience with preorders, usually I’m charged about 1-2 days before the day I receive the phone.

So technically I should be able to preorder with my wants account(only have money I. There is I sell something to get the newest electronic device or whatever) as I call it since it wouldn’t be charged until 1-2 days before it ships which could be a long time anyways if rumors are true

When are preorders for Apple expected to happen again? Is it right after the event is over?

It's always been on the Friday after the event.

2-3 years ago it was on Saturday @ 12a instead of Friday. I think that's the only time it's been on a Saturday. I'd actually prefer that, as I can sleep in on Saturday after staying up late (way past when I usually go to bed in my time zone)!

This is true, but they do charge you initially... it’s away to check and see if it’s a valid account.

So, you will having a pending charge on the account... but it will disappear in a day or two until it’s ready to be shipped.

All the information like, "preorders start at midnight tomorrow!" "preorders start on Saturday midnight!" "preorders start at Friday midnight!" to all different people apparently.

Yeah, that would be great for me too.

No, Apple charges at the time the iPhone physically ships (Preparing for shipment phase) the day of, not days earlier.

They are producing 10k units per day. I wonder how much that will actually mean for in-store stock..
