I tried test ordering an 5S and when I went to add it to the cart I got this message: "Your Account is in a market not supported for upgrades" and thats forNot sure what the New York limitation is. Makes no sense.
either Next plan or contract purchase and on the At&t site every phone I have is
upgradeable, something crazy with the apple site. I won't be using it tonight.

Financial disclosure laws in New York are quite a bit different than most other states, I know that.
My hunch, as someone who deals with this kind of crap daily, is that there was no way for them to legally offer the program because of somme snafu over the "0% financing" that it technically is. I'd guess the disclosures required because of state laws make it impossible for them to let you upgrade online using that program.
In reality though, does it really matter? They won't let you. That won't change in the next few hours anyway. Time for alternatives.
Just tried to order a 5s using next in NY and there were no errors displayed. Not sure what's the issue.

I tired upgrading my line using a 5S and as soon as I went to add it to the cart I received an error message because I live in New York, it says I need to visit an ATT store to do the upgrade through NEXT, it appears going waiting on line at an Apple Store next week will not work either. By the way I live in Long Island New York. So unless Apple will have this cleared up by tonight, I don't see how it is going to work. This is extremely disappointing.

Yes. I just walked through the process with a 5S all the way to my cart. You can do both NEXT options at Apple.com

Will Apple let you upgrade with Next if you are doing the trade-in program? Or is that only on AT&T's site
