Preordering Shows On iTunes.

I have a question. I unfortunately have Dish Network and can't watch The Walking Dead, so I was going to pre order it on iTunes. But when I do that when do I get access to the episodes? Can I watch them the same time they're live on tv? Next day? Can anyone help me out with this?
