Prepaid ATT GoPhone on iPhone 3GS

Just wanted to warn people that some AT&T reps will try to sell you a SIM card for $100. It happened to me. If that happens just try another store.

They won't charge you for a sim as long as you tell them it's to activate an old iPhone.

Hi,

I'm from the UK and moving to Orlando for 12months, starting 29th January.

I have got my iPhone 3Gs Officially Unlocked by 02. I can insert any simcard and it works.

Now with me moving to Florida for a year... what will I need to get my phone to work over there?

I really really need help and advice. I tweeted to ATT and they came back with me needing a $30 unlimited data plan onto of voice plans starting at $39.99. Is that right it seems really pricey.

this isnt working for me. i have a locked att iphone with a prepaid sim with the $20 / 100 mb data plan.

for some reason the iphone wont even make calls on the prepaid sim...

any help would be greatly appreciated.

On my HK factory unlocked iPhone, the Cellular Data Network blank disappears as soon as the ATT sim is inserted. Therefore you cannot enter the ATT/Cingular APN (wap.cingular). Because of that you cannot access data. Simply install the AT&T profile- visit this page from your iPhone and touch the ATT selection- from BenM.net, add the data package (dial 611 and follow instructions) and it will work after that. Confirmed to be working on my HK iPhone 3GS 🙂.
