'Prepared for Shipment' - how long?

My order says it's is prepared for shipment - just wondering how long it took others to go from that to 'shipped'?

Do they ship from China?

In the UK here and it's a MP quad with airport and hd 4870.

IIRC it took mine about a day, but the problem was mine changed status on a Friday afternoon, so it took all weekend before it actually shipped out...

Hello,

After talking to Apple on the phone a few weeks ago (because my order was taking a long time to go from "Not yet shipped" to "Prepared for shipment"), the woman told me that "Prepared for shipment" essentially means this: the courrier has picked it up but has not yet updated its system.

It took a day to go from Prepared to Shipped, but if what she told me was true, then Prepared esentially means Shipped.

Did it arrive the next day? I've ordered a Macbook. How would I know if its been shipped from the UK or China? I'm currently sat waiting for 'prepared for shipment' (bad english IMO) changes to 'shipped' 😀
