So I have a replacement iPhone 14 being sent by apple. It has an estimated delivery date of Oct 28-Nov 4. However, my bar that shows status, just moved to "preparing to ship". Does that mean it's actually in hand and they are getting it ready to ship or is that just a fluke and the Oct 28 date is right?

Just curious.

I would be surprised if the status stayed in Preparing to Ship for a month. I’d bet you’ll get it much sooner than promised originally. Good luck!

That's my thought process. I'm going to give it a day or two and see if it shows up in My Choice

Typically you can count on tracking showing up in MyChoice within 24-48 hours after the status changes to Preparing to Ship.

This is correct! Woke up this morning and received a noticed that it shipped and UPS My Choice also showed it. To be delivered Monday. Very impressed and happy!

”Preparing to Ship:” a marketing term meaning we have your order and your payment (Thank you!), and we really really want to get your stuff to you. However, we have a cumbersome fulfillment process, we can’t find your stuff, the worker who normally does this decided s/he didn’t want to come to work today, the shipping company is backed up, there’s a truckers strike looming, none of us has had our second cup of coffee this morning, and frankly we have no clue when we will actually send you your paid-for item.
