I guess he has to use an iPad per request of SecretService. This way they can always use the function "Find The President". Only if he didn't update to 4.3.3.

Many things can look like an iPad with open SmartCover, especially when you hardly see anything conclusive like in that picture.

As we are in MR & iPad forum it can't be anything else. IT MUST BE AN IPAD. Everything else is just not acceptable.

When President Obama is not out killing the most wanted terrorist in the world, he gets a bit of R&R on his iPad2. Crazy, he uses that device outdoors too!
1: Promo photos are a nice thing aren't they? Capture a moment that likely never happened (the glare he should be getting at that angle is obscene, the thing would be a mirror).
2: Basically, if he DOES use the iPad2 regularly, does that mean that terrorists could get access to his tracking data and therefore locate his secret bunkers? Just sayin.

That's nice, and he may very well have an iPad with a grey smart cover... but it's not in the picture provided in the OP.
It clearly is in the picture. Zoom in and u will see the side bezel of ipad2 as well as the smart cover. Nobody is denying there is no ipad2 except for you.

I'm not denying he has one; I'm denynig that you can identify it in that picture. It's like me saying that Obama is actually holding his dog's leash in this picture, based on the fact that he has a dog:

Not at that angle. Look at the shadows of the tables and the trees, the sun is hitting him in the face, so the face of the ipad is NOT in the sun. It would still be somewhat difficult to see what's on the screen, due to the reflections from the bright surroundings, but not impossible.
I have an outside deck, and have used the ipad in the sun there occasionally, so I know 🙂 As long as the face of the ipad is not directly getting hit by sun, it's possible (not easy) to see what's on the screen.

I hope you're not serious... You can clearly see the headphone jack with the black 3G plastic strip on the top. If you are serious, please get some glasses.
