Has anyone encountered an anti-bot captcha when visiting a website?

I have recently been looking on Wayfair, and I have been receiving emais from them with product offerings tailored to my browsing history. I clicked a link in the email, as it had the correct URL when I hovered over the unloaded images (in the email). I landed on a page that had "Press and Hold to verify..." that I was not a bot. I left the page. Tried a few more times, got the same results, and left the page each time. One time I pressed the captcha, but stopped after 2 seconds because it took a long time to progress (there was a progress bar below the button).

I typed wayfair dot com in the browser, and the same thing happened. For whatever reason (I'm not happy with myself 😡) I pressed and held the captcha, and after about 5 to 7 seconds, the main page loaded.

Has anyone encountered this kind of captcha? Did I compromise my machine?

I just saw my first press and hold Captcha. Tbh, I forget what site had it, but I thought it was weird but rather inventive. Much better then clicking boxes of image that are made harder then it ought to be

I'd rather be confronted by a "press and hold" than by those "picture puzzles" that are so small they're impossible to see, and telling you to select all pics with traffic lights, etc. Again, the images are so small and blurry I can't SEE what's there to pick.

Press and hold ... that's EASY.

Since these recent DDoS attacks, I have noticed many more websites using Cloudflare more prominently. Most obvious was Apple. Never had it check I was legit until the last couple of weeks. It does some kind of check then loads the Apple website. Never had to interact with anything there yet.

Well, you all made me feel better about the new Press and Hold verification method.

Before posting my first message, one of the (many) searches I did mentioned something about verification, but also included results that it could be malicious.

Unfortunately, the results were mixed in with possible malware results. For example, instructions regarding opening the cmd (Windows) and terminal (macOS). This brought my mind to the issue of hidden fields on websites and password managers. Search Results varied based on the query parameters. I knew I didn't do anything other than Press and Hold, but I thought it best to check here and verify if anyone had the same experience as I did.

I appreciate all the responses, and hopefully this thread may put other minds at ease if they encounter the new captcha!

I'm in the same boat regarding some of those images - blurry as can be.
