i'm hoping for a better video camera, 1TB capacity, and a 900x1350 resolution. also maybe increase the terrible battery life...80 hours of talk time on 3G is not enough.

However the iPod classic capacity is stagnating recently years as drive makers hit a limit, so maybe the capacity increase won't be as fast, unless there is major change in technology.

ARGH. I had a video that shows perfectly what I think the iPhone will be in 2012, but with an Apple look. It was projected on the ground, in a full circle. You use hand gestures controlled everything. Built in GPS navigation that showed an arrow on the ground to guide you there. Bluetooth for voice. Only think I would add is a small HUD for when you're sitting down, or don't want the world to see your email to your mom about your trip to the Carribean. It looked sweet in the video.

Isn't this because the classic uses a moving parts Hard drive whereas the iPod Touch and iPhone use solid hard drive?

I think by 2012 the fad known as the internet will finally die down . . . as well as the fads for color screens/touch screens/computer integration/and small devices.

the iPhone of 2012 will be about the size of a shoe box, but rugged and water proof, have a monocolor screen with a green back light, and operate on a voice only analog signal. You will need to dial 9 to call out.

They will call it "retro" and everyone will want one. . . interestingly enough Apple will drop cut and paste and MMS, saying that no one uses those features anymore (which will mark the first time Apple was honest about not including a feature since no one will use the feature the new iPhone since it lacks the ability to display both words and pictures)

The new version of iPhone in July 2012 will have solar charging as a transparent layer under the screen, so that while you are in a lit room, the phone will charge. If you are out in direct sunlight, the charging will be at optimal.

The main charging capability however, will still be via the wireless USB standard introduced into the summer 2010 iPhone. Wireless USB will now both charge the phone, and will sync the phone at speeds of up to 100 Mbps.

Haha wireless USB charging. That is a scary thought. Move your hand between the phone and the main USB hook and ZAP your on the floor as a blackened corpse. Ooookkkk maybe not that severe but bad enough to make you pee your pants and go into convulsions (think tazer!) Again too much lol, but you'd feel it. I don't think we'll ever have wireless power transmission as then people would get shocked in the air.
