If it's in a case, how do you know how thin it is? You basically described a white 3GS and I'd guess that's probably exactly what you saw.
VERY crude drawing. But the case didn't cover the entire back, I could see pieces of it. White plastic back underneath the case. There was a camera on the front, so it wasn't a 3GS.

So I was walking outside and I saw a woman with a peculiar phone. It had a case on it and had a circular cut out to show the apple logo on the back. She was holding it up to her ear. I noticed it was pretty thin, and at first I thought it was just an iPod touch. But then I realized that they have an aluminum backing, and this one had a plastic white back, plus iPhones have a bigger Apple logo I believe, which this one did.

She then ended her call and it had an ear piece, camera to the side (like an iPhone) and a bigger screen. It looked a lot like a really thin iPhone 3G. I didn't get a look at the home button. I should have stopped and asked her about it but I was in a hurry.

Oh well, I thought it was interesting and thought I would share it with you guys.

pics or it didnt happen :p:cool:

I'm curious how the OP was close enough to see there was no front facing camera but didn't get to see the home button

Where do you find all these great gifs to use? You always seem to have the appropriate one.

That kinda makes me think it was a white 3GS. I'm looking at mine now, and trying to visualise what the OP was looking at...from an angle it does look slightly thinner, but not a significant amount :/
Like I said...it's very crude. I drew it in about 30 seconds just to explain what I saw.

On the front the black bar at the top was thinner and the camera was a little farther away from the earpiece if I remember correctly.

I saw a silver car today, I think they are bringing back the aluminum back which is also silver. I think the car I saw may actually have been an iPhone 5 in some type of case to throw everyone off.

I saw a front facing camera. She then got off the phone and ended the call so her thumb was in the way of the home button, and I honestly didn't really think to look until after I passed her up. I wasn't doing the creep on her so I didn't spend a terrible amount of time to inspect every detail.

I understand the skepticism that everyone has, and it's your choice to believe me or not. But I've told everything that I saw.

Anyone remember that story from a year ago where they saw that 'time traveler' using a cell phone in the Charlie Chaplin flick of 1928?

http://technolog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2010/10/26/5353411-cell-phone-time-traveler-from-1928

Yes! I remember that. Well this explains everything. That woman was a time traveler. That's how she got the iPhone 5. Great, end of story. This thread can now be shut down :D

But in all seriousness, I still don't know what to make of that woman in the Charlie Chapman video and of what the OP saw. Seeing as their very adamant about what he/she saw and is actively contributing to this thread to defend the original claim made, I'm gonna say they aren't a troll....

So I was walking outside and talking on my iPhone 4 when I noticed some guy kept looking at my phone. I had a new case in it that made the phone look pretty slim, and it revealed the Apple logo in the back for style. I had a white iPhone 4 which might looks kind of plasticy at a distance.

Anyways, I ended my call and was totally creeped out by this guy who was still staring at my phone. I thought he was going to try to steal is and looked like he was going to stop me to say something so I quickly hurried away.

Oh well, I thought it was an awkward experience and wanted to share it with you guys.
