If I enable "Prevent automatic sleeping on power adapter", will this still put my MBP to sleep if it's running on battery?

I'm converting large files but when the laptop sleeps they stop converting, and when I wake it again the files no longer begin converting and I need to start from scratch.

Right now, I've put it on charge, but I'm conscious of over charging when it's already on 100%.

As it states, it only prevents sleep while connected to power.

If you want to prevent sleep temporarily when you need it, open Terminal and run caffeinate. When finished, Control-C to stop it or exit Terminal.
