    Hi there.

Is there any way to prevent iTunes from optimizing an image?

I recently was browsing on my iPad and I saved an image file. It looks good and was stored in photos.

Then I synced my iPad, transferred my pics into iPhoto, tagged them etc.

At this point iTunes decided to optimize the image on my iPad, so now it looks awful, an image which once had vivid colors now looks washed out. I got the ipad version and original file together side by side and it just looked terrible.

I know the iPad has limitations so I don't expect it to show a 4k RAW image file, but this file showed up perfectly in Safari and I was able to save a much higher quality version directly into photos, so clearly the iPad can read these images and optimization isn't necessary (it doesn't even save space, the optimized version is 30kb bigger than the original)

Is there any way to do this?
