Without getting into too many details, all I really want to do is turn iMessages back on without any messages from my phone reloading over the home network.

The network activity is monitored where I live and there are some things I'd rather not have load over the network that I originally sent via cell phone data (but still as iMessages). I have deleted said activity from my phone, but noticed on my laptop that the old messages still loaded and had to be deleted there, too. Before i turn iMessages back on my iMac, is there a way to prevent this?

I really don't understand the problem, if you have in fact, already deleted the messages on both devices. It wouldn't matter anyway whether they were deleted or not, because unless you have shared your iCloud login info with someone else, there is no way that those messages could be accessed by anyone else. Just because someone monitors your network, doesn't mean that they can read your messages.
