Universal Preview default settings?

Is there a way to adjust the default settings in the new Preview app? I hate the auto shutter feature being the default setting. Every time I go to scan a document I have to discard a bunch of skewed images partially blocked by my hand.

Other question why can't I paste a file name while renaming the scan? Future wish list sure would be more robust renaming features.
 
One more quick question. How do I make iCloud on my MacBook update to show new Preview files? I scanned in a bunch of documents can see them on the iPhone but when I go to the corresponding iCloud folder I can only see files from a day ago. Any thoughts on how to force update my macbook's iCloud ?
