    anyone having issues with Preview?

Every time you crop a picture a notice comes up:

"The file “*****.jpg” is locked because you haven’t made any changes to it recently. If you want to make changes to this document, click Unlock. To keep the file unchanged and work with a copy, click Duplicate."

    A way to stop this?

Also, it randomly crashes when cropping some images.

Or if it manages to crop a picture the bottom half turns tray on some images.

The locking thing is part of Versions, working in conjunction with Auto Save, two new features in Lion that can't be (easily) turned off. The other part of your post sounds like a bug somewhere.

I wasn't getting that 'locked' notice when I first used preview in Lion, its just started in the past week.

indeed another bug to add to Lions collection.

You can uncheck the "Locked" feature in Time Machine options.

At least that'll hopefully solve one problem. Thanks.
