I am unable to scan documents using Preview. Usually I would get an overview of the document I am scanning, select the settings, click the "scan" button and choose the location where I want the file to be created. I am receiving an error after clicking "scan" that says something like "directory not found," and I am not able to choose the location of the scanned file or initiate the scanning.

I am using an HP Photosmart plus B210. Scanning was working fine with lion but no dice since the mountain lion upgrade.

I called apple about the issue and was able to scan using a test account but was not able to solve the issue within my user account. The problem was forwarded to the engineers and I am waiting for reply.

Does anyone else have this scanning problem or know a solution?

Apple support had me repair the disk permissions, and tried to remove the preferences files for Preview to force them to be created new.
