Even though I have acrobat 8.0 pro installed I found I rather like preview for viewing pdf files, but discovered that if I open a pdf file in preview (leopard 10.5.2 on a MBP) and then use "save as", the resultant file can't usually be read cleanly by acrobat on a windows XP system or other platforms. Specifically, acrobat 7 on win32 xpsp2 gives the dreaded "cannot extract the embedded font..." warning, and after clicking "OK" the fonts appear hopelessly managed. Note that I'm using the stock default quartz filter (I'm _not using "reduce file size" for instance). So much for the "P" in PDF.
Any thoughts?
