Preview stalls while scrolling 100% of the time

Anyone else having this issue after upgrading to OS X Mavericks? I am very concerned... as a PhD student I have to read a lot of scientific journal articles and this is becoming very annoying.

Lots and lots of scroll stalling. If I move the cursor outside the window then back in it begins scrolling again but usually stalls out pretty quickly.

Definite bug in Mavericks (never experienced on any prior OSX)
