I used to regularly use the Siri command "read my last message" or "read my last message from Tim". This command used to read my last text iMessage. This command no longer works for me. Does this command work for anyone?

Siri has the flu and is having random fits. Seriously the last 12 hours Siri has been answering and responding incorrectly.

So just to clarify. This command reads a previously read message, NOT your unread message. And that is working for you? This stopped working a couple weeks ago for me.

Played around with that just now and, yes, reads the last received message even if it has already been read before, and can do it on a per contact/conversation basis as well if I ask.

Thanks for verifying. If I turn Siri off then back on will that clear out everything previously learned or does it have to be a set up new phone?

I just turned off Siri and Dictation for a while in hopes that it would reset everything. After turning it back on it still doesn't work.

Btw the response I get is "You have no unread messages"

It's strange that all the other commands I use work except that one.

Sorry for your trouble, but yes. I ask Siri to read my last message from any contact and it reads it.

Thanks for checking. I will do a reload through iTunes so that it reinstalls the OS (not just clears settings) and reinstall a backup. I'm hoping that maybe it got messed up during the last beta and this will clear it. I'll update this thread later today

I recall some previous threads about this kind of thing over the last few years or so. I can't quite recall for sure, but I don't believe any particular reasoning or solutions were found in relation to it and to why some people have it working and others don't (even if it worked for them before).

I did a restore from iTunes and it still doesn't read my last read message. Too bad. I used to use this command a lot. I'll set up as a new phone when I get the 7

    Fixed:
After doing the restore and it not working I decided to give up on this. But when I went to use Siri to send a text message to someone I text daily it all of a sudden said that the contact doesn't have a phone number or email which they do (I double checked).
I made sure all my contact databases were off (iCloud, Yahoo, other Gmail accounts) except the one I use (main Gmail account). iCloud was on. I guess the restore turns it back on automatically. It was empty anyway so I turned it off. Didn't fix it.
I then turned off my contacts for my main Gmail account and deleted all contacts off my phone. I then turned it back on and waited a while for contacts app to repopulate with all my contacts.
    Didn't fix it.
I then took a screen shot of the contact and deleted the contact from Gmail and remade it.
That fixed not being able to text that person AND it also fixed the issue with me being able to ask for my last unread message from anyone. STRANGE.
