Hey everyone

I recently got my rMBP 2.3/16/256.

I am still using my old 2007 MBP 17" as my main computer hooked up to an ACD.

I put it up for sale on craigslist for $750 and I have a buyer who wants it right away. Now I am thinking if it is worth this much or just keep it as a backup computer.

Do you guys think its a fair offer price? It is upgraded to a 120 GB SSD and I am also throwing in a pair of headphones.

This was my plan to begin with, hence why I bought the rMBP but now I am hesitating because I am too attached to it. Should I sell? Thanks!

As a starting point, you can check Mac2Sell, eBay (including completed sales), or Amazon for prices of similar models, to get an idea of what you may be able to charge. Then adjust your price to account for condition, configuration, remaining AppleCare coverage (if any), etc.

It sounds like a scam. Your machine is worth around 200-300 without the SSD.

If its not a scam, take it in a heartbeat.

I have looked on ebay already and the going rate is around $500-$600 (CAD).

If it is legitimate do you guys think it is a good deal? I am choosing the meeting location and was provided with their number.

I am throwing in a pair of Grado S60's as the type of headphones I am including with this computer.

After looking at eBay completed listings, your MacBook looks to be about $500. I based my estimate on recent 2008/2009 MBP prices, which were around $600-$900. My bad.

Sold my 2006 15-inch MBP 2.16 C2D, 3GB RAM, 500GB 7200 for listed price of $650 on craigslist. It was in great condition.

Thought about using it as a backup for a while but with a 27-inch iMac and 11-inch Air... it was just collecting dust... :(
