I may buy a cheap macbook just for the price of it. It is a black macbook, he says its an '09. Has 10.5.8, 2.16GHz, and 1GB memory.

Any idea what this is worth used?

The description you are giving is most likely for a 2007 MacBook. I think black MacBooks were done by 2008.

You can check some specs here. For what it is, I'd guess around maybe $350 to $450 USD.

Mountain Lion will not support any of the Black Macbooks since they don't have 64bit video drivers. Not sure if that makes any difference, but just letting you know.
