I am wondering what I could get for my 1st generation 12" Powerbook, with 40 GB hard drive, 640 MB of RAM (the memory was purchased from and installed by Apple). It has a 867 mHz G4 processer and is running OS X, version 10.2.8 (not Panther). 2 USB ports, 1 Firewire port. It's got a CD-RW drive as well. Appearance wise, there are a few light scratches on the lid, but nothing major. It was purchased in July 2003 from an Apple Store.

I'm more interested in what market price is then trying to sell it right away. I'll post more details as questions arise.

Thanks for any help.

You got to take this into consideration:

From the apple store:

PowerBook G4 867MHz/256MB/40GB/SuperDrive/E/12"TFT - Refurbished Add $1,399.00

the apple store refurb has superdrive (his has combo), Panther (his has Jag) and a 1 year warranty. His on the other hand has 640 RAM.

All told, I think the one he is selling is worth ~$1100. Yes that seems low given that a base 12" ibook G4 is that much, but used is used, and it hurts the value quite a bit.
