He has been told that the first week of June all Verizon Corporate stores will get a significant allocation of iPhone X’s. And to expect a very substantial price drop. Not a promotion price but price drop. In the neighborhood of 175-200 dollars. News about the 8 and 8+ next week. That’s what I was told when I payed my bill today. I hope it’s true. If so iPhone X’s for me my wife and my son.

The rumor is Verizon Corporate stores will drop the price, not Apple. Such a rumor is conceivable, as Verizon may be looking to clear out some inventory to make room for the new models coming a few months later.
And next year with the new iPhones you will only live once then too. And the year after that and the year after that.

lol... Best Buy pays close to full price for iPhones. They had to sell unlocked iPhones for $100 over retail because they’re weak negotiators.
Apple can give them a special price like the do on other Apple equipment they sell below retail. When Apple needs to move hardware, they make a deal with Bestbuy to do it.
They gave the $100 credit Becuase they dropped the price of the phone barely a month after launched. This will be 9+ after the X launches. So it’s not a big deal.
