Anyone else see the macrumors.pricegrabber.com link on the front page lastnight? It showed a new 17" Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz MacBook Pro for $500. LINK
I emailed asking why the cheap price, and this is the response I received. Let me know what you think:

    Hello,

The laptop is brand new, factory sealed with ALL accessories included. Will come with entirely transmissible waranty to your name. It will come with the receipt from the authorized retailer and there will be no problem for you to use the guarantee. I also offer a 5 days return policy if you choose not to keep the product(s).
The delivery is made from Italy. Please let me know if you are interested and ready to make a deal with me for we ca discuss further details.
I look forward to your reply.
    Thank you.

It's definitely a scam unless the seller put in the wrong amount on accident, but most likely not.

Scam. If it's too good to be true, it probably is.

Never, ever fall for the "it will be shipped from somewhere else" scam.
You'll never see your money again.

Seems like a great deal. I'm sure lots of trust-worthy dealers are able to sell a $2800 laptop for $2300 off. Buy it and tell how your experience was...

All cons are based on feeding the greed of the victim.

The best cons feed the greed of the victim to make them think they are the ones doing the conning, when they are the ones getting conned.

I was joking. The purpose of posting this was sarcasm/warning. I had no intention of purchasing a MBP from this person. Anyway, I'm waiting for one of the new MBPs. Tuesday, right? :)
