Of course it's not a matter of seniority, but to just register to lash out at others and claim how apple is stealing you off $100 when they are offering you a stunning high res screen included in this price is not what I have in mind as good posting habits as soon as one registers, imho. Anyway, I 'll leave you to it, as per your request. Btw, I didn't say you were wrong, it's just your opinion, I said I echo your sentiment about the pricy option, but you are not entitled to set the prices for apple, I also told you you have plenty of options with a perfectly fine used mac with applecare, that you 'll be getting a great screen too at that money just to ease the pain of the $100 extra, and that the glossy thing is sadly an industry wide practice not apple only so you should be taking it out on everyone not apple solely, that at least still offer matte in some of the macs. Of course you missed all that for some reason or other. And you told me to stuff it. Fair enough.

I consider it entirely appropriate that apple should charge a sum of money for a customer selecting a non-standard option.
I don't know how these things work with regards to productions lines and so forth, but I would imagine that choosing a non-standard option inconveniences the apple production chaps somewhat and so apple should be reimbursed.
Secondly.

Iam not saying a forum new-boy should be reserved and shy, but maybe a little moderation in your postings wouldn't go amiss.

You are missing the point. I don't feel what you get is worth even MORE premium than was already attached. It's not a matter of me needing more money...it's a matter of me not seeing the reasonable value. I love OSX but not so much I will pay stupid amounts for it.
+1. I was quite unhappy. I bought a Moshi visorguard instead to get an antiglare finish.
AG (matte) has silver bezel.
Glossy has black bezel.
Not hard to understand.
I want matte for 13", have to go 15" just for matte (regardless of cost issue). Stupid.
Can anyone comment on the viewing angles / screen quality of the AG (matte) hi-res screen. I can't judge myself as they won't ever have a store model for that here in Trondheim.
